Authorized Tower Rescuer
ANSI/ASSE A10.48 3.4 Authorized Rescuer. The authorized rescuer has completed the requirements of the authorized climber. An authorized rescuer is an individual with the documented training and skills assessment to effectively perform self and assisted rescue techniques.
This course is typically taught in conjunction with Authorized Tower Climber.
Objectives:
The participants in this course shall have already successfully completed the Authorized Tower Climber. They may or may not have completed Competent Climber Training. The main objective of Authorized Rescuer Training is to develop and maintain climbers who are capable of performing self-rescues and assisting a Competent Rescuer with pre-assigned rescue tasks.

Rescue procedures
Discussion of rescue equipment
Introduction of rescue techniques
Basic controlled ascent and descent
Non-entry rescue and “pick-off”
Discussion of suspension trauma
